With obesity on the rise, a number of people are seen looking for weight loss programs to reduce and maintain a healthy weight. There are some really good programs in the market. While some programs focus on following a natural diet plan and working out, there are still some other programs that depend upon usage of synthetically synthesized drugs for bringing about weight loss. With so many dietitians and expert delivering weight loss tips with each passing day, it becomes all the more difficult for the end user to narrow down his search to the best way to lose weight.
While some people set in for fast weight loss programs, which usually employ weight loss pills and similar chemical agents, other people prefer to do it the hard way- going and sweating it out at the gym. While both the methods have known to bring about weight loss, both have their share of good and bad things to them.
Chemical agents and weight loss pills are seen as taboo by most people. In fact, some physicians are totally against the idea of using pills. Weight loss pills, however, can be great for those who are excessively obese. Once you check up with your physician and take prescription for the right weight loss pills, you might be in for some quick weight loss. In fact, some weight loss experts argue that excessively obese people can injure themselves while working out- so they need a passive way of reducing weight and this is where weight loss pills come in.
For those who can try out workout routines, getting booted up and strapped on for the gym is one of the easiest and most motivating ways of achieving quick weight loss. Weight loss pills might be tempting, but the whole experience of sweating it out at the gym and the increased heart beat is enough to make you addicted to working out!
Survey: Have you ever rung the Quit Smoking helpline and felt like lighting up when your finished the call?
God knows I always do. They need to cheer up a bit!
I know what you mean – sometimes the phone seems like it is turning into a phone shaped cigarette. Still I am glad there is someone to call. And let’s face it when you are trying to give up smoking – anything you do leads to a desire to light up. Fighting the desire and learning that it will go away is the struggle and calling a quit smoking helpline can actually help in that struggle…
“what defines a thing as an addiction, and are all addictions bad?”?
i am personally very addicted to things that from outward appearances seem completely harmless, but they do have control over my life and get in the way of relationships. my senior year of college, (last year,) i would leave whatever event i was at, no matter how much fun i was having, to make sure i was at home at midnight to see x-files on TNT. these were played in 6 hour blocks 5 nights a week. i had classes the next mornings and i still stayed up for atleast 4-5 episodes! thank god i finally figured out i could tape them. but i still planned my night around getting home to hit record or have a roommate tape it for me. then i went through a twilight zone kick where i would watch that every night from midnight to 1 am, with my boyfriend begging for me to pay attention to him but twilight zone was my priority.
it all sounds funny to an outsider, but i’m slowly learning that my priorities should be based on things other than mindless entertainment, particularly things involving electronics. and i know people that are addicted to things that seem positive too, reading and studying and running. i just think that everying is only good in moderation.
I stopped smoking 10 days ago and my pimples are coming out like mad. What to do?
After smoking for 5 years, I decided to quit. And it works. I haven’t smoked in 10 days and I don’t feel the need to. But there is one problem. My face is full of pimples. It hasn’t been so bad since puberty. By the way, I’m 20 now (male).
That is nothing to worry about. You body is just undergoing a major change due to your quitting smoking. Once it has adjusted to the new reality, the pimples will go away. Just leave them alone and don’t press or push or scratch them open (if you do then disinfect with rubbing alcohol immediately). This may be a good sign that your body has begun to get rid of some of the toxins that smoking delivered into your body.
You may experience more side effects of stopping smoking. But all of those will ultimately settle. And you will feel your body gets healthier and healthier and improving in strength. And in skin quality.
One side effect – which can be a reason for the showing of the pimples is that you may have changed another habit when you quit smoking. Perhaps instead of smoking a cigarette you made a major change in eating – like more french fries? If there is anything you can identify taht you are doing different now, compared to before quitting, then perhaps you can change that or reduce it.
Good move!
